ICM Founder is NY1's "NY'er of the Week"
ICM founder and executive director Ana Reyes is NY1’s “New Yorker of the Week” for the week of 4/3/09. Ana started ICM five years ago after challenging herself in the 2000 Boston/NY AIDS Ride. “I wanted to create a similar experience for inner city teens that would challenge them physically and mentally and help them view challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.” View the clip here…

What We Do

I Challenge Myself (ICM) uses fitness-based challenges and service learning that allow youth in low-income communities to develop physically, academically and socially.

ICM expects that youth who successfully complete their programs:

  • View challenges as opportunities to learn and grow
  • Experience the value of goal-setting, discipline, hard work and teamwork
  • Incorporate fitness and healthy eating as a lifestyle
  • Recognize that learning extends beyond the classroom
  • Transfer their newly acquired skills and experiences to lead healthy, happy and productive lives
